Original wood floors run beneath many of these spaces, while historic photographs and preserved family details—including an image of Dr. Rourk's wife—offer glimpses into the people connected to the home before it became a place for guests to enjoy.
Historic fireplaces remain throughout the home as beautiful architectural features. Please note that all fireplaces are decorative only and are not available for guest use.
🛋️ PARLOR & LIBRARY
The main parlor is a comfortable gathering space furnished with a sofa, smaller settee, multiple sitting chairs, lamps, an area rug, antiques, photographs, and a decorative historic fireplace.
Nearby, the library offers a quieter place to settle in with a book or conversation. A sofa, two cozy sitting chairs, rocking chair, books, antiques, wood floors, and a complementary area rug create a space that feels particularly suited to slow mornings and unhurried evenings.
Two portable Smart TVs are available when your group wants to stream a favorite show or movie, but much of the home's appeal comes from spaces designed for conversation, reading, games, and simply spending time together.

The separate dining room features a table with seating for 4 beneath a chandelier.
The kitchen includes a refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, drip coffee maker, wooden cabinetry and countertops, and carefully chosen light fixtures that complement the character of the home.
Just off the kitchen is one of the home's coziest gathering spots: an additional dining area with a table surrounded by comfortable wraparound bench seating. It's an easy place for breakfast, coffee, cards, or lingering conversations long after the plates have been cleared.

The first-floor primary bedroom, Suite Magnolia, features a King bed and the added convenience of two private full bathrooms.
One private bathroom includes a walk-in shower, while the second features a tub/shower combination.
Suite Magnolia also connects to a small private sitting area furnished with a cozy couch, small table, and lamp. From here, guests can access the backyard or continue through toward the laundry room and kitchen area.
An additional full bathroom is located off the first-floor hallway and features a beautiful clawfoot tub with shower.

🌳 OUTDOOR SPACE
Out back, mature trees frame a spacious open lawn with plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors.
A gas grill is provided along with a couple of chairs near the grilling area. The yard is not fenced.
Guests can access the backyard from the rear of the kitchen as well as from the smaller sitting area connected to Suite Magnolia.

Approved pets are welcome at The Rourk House. The pet fee is 0 per pet. Guests must notify Pier 42 Vacations in advance and receive approval prior to bringing a pet.
Required documentation includes current rabies vaccination records, proof of flea and tick prevention, and a photo of each pet. Documentation must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to arrival.
Pets left unattended must be crated and may not be left outside unattended. Guests are responsible for any additional cleaning or repairs resulting from pets. Unauthorized pets may result in additional charges.
Trained service animals are permitted as required by applicable law. Emotional support animals are not considered service animals and are not permitted unless otherwise required by applicable law.
🔥 GAS GRILL
A gas grill is provided. Propane is not supplied. Guests may bring their own propane tank or arrange propane delivery after booking through available guest services.

You may cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of amounts paid, excluding the administrative fee, when Pier 42 Realty & Vacation Rentals receives written notice of cancellation at least sixty (60) days prior to the scheduled check-in date.
Cancellations made within sixty (60) days of check-in, for any or no reason—including inclement weather or failure to make the required final payment—are not eligible for a refund of payments made to Pier 42 Realty & Vacation Rentals. Administrative fees are non-refundable.
